Access control

Last modified: ~2 min read

What Access Control does #

An Access Control page in the Global section of Client Preferences Manager lets you restrict My Club Business sign-in by IP address. The feature applies to IP addresses in the US and Canada only.

Regional limitations

  • IP addresses outside of the US and Canada cannot be provided access via this page only.
  • Users outside these regions should use a proxy or VPN that routes traffic through US or Canada addresses.
  • ASF may whitelist non-US/Canada addresses. This requires 2 to 3 weeks for completion via a request to your ASF account manager.

Enabling IP access control #

System Admin users can toggle IP-based access limiting. The feature is available only to System Admin users at this time for feature piloting. When inactive (the default), users see a message that this control is unavailable. When active, an allowed IP addresses table appears.

Access to the page requires the permission Settings - Global Preferences - Can Access.

Managing allowed IP addresses #

Add IP addresses with these fields:

  • IP Address: single address or range (using "/" notation).
  • Type: Single or Range.
  • Description: recommended for location identification.

Role-level and user-level restrictions #

The permission Can Access via Any IP Address controls whether a role or user is restricted to the allowed list. When you uncheck it, that role or user can only sign in from addresses on the allowed list. The permission defaults to checked.

Note: Client Admins are assumed to be able to access the site from any IP address; therefore this permission cannot be unchecked for Client Admin users.

When a restricted user attempts to sign in from a disallowed IP, an error page directs them to contact support.
