Barcode scanner #

The recommended scanner for ringing up inventory items in MyPOS is the Honeywell Voyager 1250g. This model reads standard product barcodes and operates in keyboard mode, which is required for compatibility with MyPOS.

When selecting any scanner, confirm it supports keyboard emulation mode. Scanners that communicate through other interfaces may not function correctly with MyPOS.

Receipt printer #

MyPOS can print receipts to any connected printer, whether a dedicated receipt printer or a standard full-size printer. You are not limited to a specific receipt printer model for printing alone.

If you want the cash drawer to open automatically after a transaction, however, the printer choice does matter (see below).

Cash drawer #

For the cash drawer to open automatically when a transaction is completed in MyPOS, you must use both of the following together:

  • An RJ-11 model cash drawer
  • A STAR TSP 100 receipt printer

The cash drawer connects to the STAR TSP 100 printer via the RJ-11 port, and MyPOS triggers the drawer through the printer. No other combination of printer and drawer provides this automatic-open functionality.

If you use a different receipt printer, the cash drawer will not open automatically. Staff would need to open it manually or use the Cash Drawer Maintenance screen.

Summary #

  • Scanner: Honeywell Voyager 1250g (keyboard mode)
  • Receipt printer: Any printer for receipts only; STAR TSP 100 required for automatic drawer opening
  • Cash drawer: RJ-11 model, connected to a STAR TSP 100
