What is a D-U-N-S number?

Last modified: ~1 min read

Definition #

A D-U-N-S number is a unique, nine-digit number that identifies each physical location of your business. The identifier is assigned and administered by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) and serves as a standard business identification tool used across industries, financial institutions, and government agencies.

Why it matters for your club #

Your D-U-N-S number is tied to your specific business location. If your gym or fitness club operates multiple physical locations, each location may have its own D-U-N-S number. It is used in business credit reporting, vendor verification, and certain compliance and financial processes.

If you are asked to provide a D-U-N-S number as part of an ASF process, use the number associated with the specific business entity and physical address for that Merchant ID.

How to look up your D-U-N-S number #

You can look up or register a D-U-N-S number through the Dun & Bradstreet website. Apple also maintains a lookup tool for developers that uses D-U-N-S numbers for App Store entity verification. If you are unsure which number applies to your account, contact ASF Client Support for guidance.
