PCI is a standardization of requirements that apply to any business that processes, stores, or transmits credit/debit card data. PCI began in 2004 when Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB banded together to create the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) or better-known as just "PCI”. The standards are designed to provide a security model that needs to be used by anyone involved with credit card processing. PCI is comprised of six primary controls and twelve core requirements. In your day-to-day operations, PCI DSS compliance probably isn’t even on your radar, but it’s important that you’re aware of what is required, and that you understand the requirements.
ASF maintains compliancy for our clients by operating in an extremely secure network environment with security controls that meet and exceed the PCI requirements.
Being a level 1 PCI compliant company brings increased benefits for our clients. ASF customers can rest assured that the credit card data they have entrusted to us is thoroughly protected and that an outside party has reviewed all security controls at our facility.
